Smile Therapy: Brushing Your Teeth

Posted .

Brushing effectively depends on brushing properly. You may think you’re brushing correctly, but the truth is that we often rush it and don’t fully clean all areas of our teeth. Even a small amount of surface left behind with plaque can give rise to dental erosion. To keep all areas of your teeth safe, you must take your time and gently clean our teeth correctly with our toothbrushes.

Are you aware of how to properly brush your teeth? If you’ve not already done so, it is important to make sure that you have selected a toothbrush that has soft bristles and can contour to all areas of your mouth. Not only should your toothbrush be durable, but it needs to be taken care of on a daily basis. By taking care of your toothbrush, you can lower your risk of contamination, and make sure your brush can continue to clean your mouth effectively.

Generally, you should brush for two minutes twice daily. Always brush your teeth at a 45-degree angle unless you’re brushing your front teeth, at which point you should turn your brush vertical. Take your time, as it is not a race. Make sure to clean all areas and sides of each and every tooth. Furthermore, make sure you clean off your tongue as they can harbor bacteria.
